GCD Attend the Launch of EBLF

The university was founded in 1951 as a trades school and in 1963 as a technical institute. There are roughly 7,000 varied students enrolled at the university. The Commonwealth Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa counts TaTU as one of its members. Additionally, it is a member of the Conference of Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities and Rectors of Polytechnics in Ghana as well as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutes in Ghana. Numerous accolades attest to TaTU’s excellent reputation in the field of applied research and technology among the world’s universities.[7] On Tuesday, September 6th 2025 students of the university staged a protest against school management against fees hikes and poor hostel facilities.

I am Hannah Appigah, a graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology [KNUST], where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry 2024. Currently, I am serving as a National Service Personnel at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) with the Quality Control Department. My passion for science and my desire to make meaningful contributions to industry growth inspire my pursuit of advance studies, with aspirations to attain a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in areas related to Chemistry specifically Nanotechnology.

I am a highly self-motivated, resilient and hardworking young person with a firm determination to use the knowledge and skills I have acquired to contribute positively to the environments in which I work while also enhancing on my human capital. I envision a thriving career in the oil and gas or mining industries,  driven by my academic foundation in Chemistry and hands-on experience gained during internships and my current role at  NPA as Service Personnel.

While in the university, I had the opportunity to lead over 10,000 students as the General Secretary for the Science Students Association (SCISA) and as a member of Parliament for the 15th SRC Parliamentary Council and also served as a member of Residence and welfare Committee for the 15th Parliamentary Council-KNUST.

I love to read Personnel development books, swim, and cook as well.
